Rent the MacBook Pro 17″ (2009) – large 1920 x 1200 screen in a unibody case

The 17-inch MacBook Pro from early 2009 was Apple’s largest notebook at the time and the first 17-inch model in a unibody aluminium case. Its screen shows 1920 x 1200 pixels, more than many current laptops. Today it is rented for film and photo productions that want to show an original device from this period, and for tasks that need older software or old interfaces. 17 inches of workspace

With 1920 x 1200 pixels in 16:10 format, two documents fit side by side on screen, and editing and audio programs leave more room for timeline and tool palettes. Via the Mini DisplayPort you can also connect an external monitor or projector. The price for the large screen is weight: 2.99 kg at 2.5 cm thick. The device is better suited to a fixed workstation or a set than to the daily commute.

Configuration of our device

Inside is an Intel Core 2 Duo; Apple shipped the model at 2.66 GHz and optionally 2.93 GHz. As in the 15-inch model, two NVIDIA graphics chips are installed: the GeForce 9400M for long battery life and the GeForce 9600M GT with 512 MB of graphics memory for more performance. The memory is 4 GB DDR3, and a 256 GB SSD replaces the hard drive.

ExpressCard instead of SD card

Unlike the 15-inch model, the 17-inch MacBook Pro has no SD card slot but an ExpressCard/34 slot. It accepts expansion cards from this period, for example for eSATA drives, additional FireWire ports or card readers. Together with FireWire 800 and three USB ports, the device is well suited to transferring data from old cameras, audio interfaces or hard drives.

Pre-configuration & identical devices

On request we install apps and software, add Wi-Fi access and apply settings before shipping. For larger quantities all devices get the same configuration. You state your requirements in the inquiry form; the scope is listed in the quote.

Delivery & return

We deliver available devices throughout Germany by express or overnight shipping in secured reusable boxes. Before the rental period ends you receive return labels and we arrange the pickup. Shipping costs for delivery and pickup are usually included in the quote.

Protection package & service

Frequently asked questions

What resolution does the MacBook Pro 17" (2009) have?
1920 x 1200 pixels on 17 inches. That is considerably more than the 15-inch model with 1440 x 900 pixels.
Does the MacBook Pro 17" (2009) have an SD card reader?
No. The 17-inch model has an ExpressCard/34 slot instead. For SD cards you need an external USB card reader.
How long can I rent the device?
From one day. If you only need it for a few days, there is no need to book a whole month — you pay only for the period you actually need the hardware.
Can the notebook be delivered preconfigured?

Is there insurance for rental devices?

Before the end of the rental period you receive the matching return labels; we organise the collection. You pack the devices securely for transport and we take care of the rest.
