Rent the MacBook Pro 16″ M2 Max – graphics power for 8K video, 3D and large data sets

The M2 Max is the most powerful chip Apple put into the 16-inch MacBook Pro in early 2023. Our rental device has 96 GB of unified memory. This configuration is only available with the 38-core GPU, the largest graphics option. The device is aimed at video teams, 3D artists and anyone who processes large projects directly on the laptop. 38 GPU cores and 96 GB of unified memory

The 12-core CPU is the same as in the M2 Pro. The difference lies in graphics and memory: the GPU has twice as many cores as the M2 Pro, and memory bandwidth rises to 400 GB/s. Because CPU and GPU use the same memory, the graphics can draw on up to 96 GB for large 3D scenes or machine learning models. That is more graphics memory than most desktop graphics cards offer. Depending on the unit, the SSD holds up to 8 TB.

What teams rent the M2 Max model for

  • Video production: 8K and multicam editing in Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve. Two video encoders and two ProRes engines speed up export and playback.
  • 3D and animation: rendering in Blender, Cinema 4D or Redshift with large scenes and textures
  • Machine learning: training and testing models locally that need a lot of graphics memory
  • Multi-monitor workstations: up to four external displays, three of them at 6K via Thunderbolt

Display and features

The Liquid Retina XDR display measures 16.2 inches and shows 3456 x 2234 pixels at up to 120 Hz. It displays HDR material at 1000 nits sustained and up to 1600 nits peak brightness, which matters when judging HDR grades. Ports include three Thunderbolt 4, HDMI (up to 8K at 60 Hz), an SDXC slot for camera cards, MagSafe 3 and a headphone jack. It charges with the 140 W power adapter included in delivery.

According to Apple, the 100 Wh battery lasts up to 22 hours of movie playback. Under full load while rendering, runtime is much shorter; for long exports we recommend mains power. The device weighs 2.16 kg.

  • Memory: up to 96 GB instead of a maximum of 32 GB
  • Memory bandwidth: 400 GB/s instead of 200 GB/s
  • External monitors: four instead of two
  • Media engine: twice the number of video encoders and ProRes engines

If you mainly edit 4K video, work on photos or develop software, the more affordable MacBook Pro 16″ M2 Pro is enough.

How to rent the M2 Max MacBook

Fill in the request form and we will email you a quote with price and rental terms. Before shipping we set up the device to your specifications, for example with a user account, codecs or plug-ins for your editing software. We ship by express in reusable boxes, so the MacBook reaches you the next working day. We organise the collection when the rental ends.

Pre-configuration & identical devices

On request we install apps and software, add Wi-Fi access and apply settings before shipping. For larger quantities all devices get the same configuration. You state your requirements in the inquiry form; the scope is listed in the quote.

Delivery & return

We deliver available devices throughout Germany by express or overnight shipping in secured reusable boxes. Before the rental period ends you receive return labels and we arrange the pickup. Shipping costs for delivery and pickup are usually included in the quote.

Protection package & service

Which projects is the MacBook Pro 16" M2 MAX (2023) worth it for?
For 8K and multicam video editing, HDR grading, 3D rendering and machine learning. The 38-core GPU and 96 GB of memory keep even large projects entirely in memory.
Can I connect several monitors?
Yes. The M2 Max model drives up to four external displays: three via Thunderbolt at up to 6K and one via HDMI at up to 4K and 144 Hz.
How long can I rent the device?
From one day. If you only need it for a few days, there is no need to book a whole month — you pay only for the period you actually need the hardware.
Can the notebook be delivered preconfigured?
Yes, on request with preinstalled software, user accounts or specific settings so your team can get started right away.
Is there insurance for rental devices?
Yes, optional. It covers theft and damage, among other things. The cost is 15 percent on top of the rental price, and the excess in the event of damage is 10 percent of the device’s replacement price.
How do return and collection work?
Before the end of the rental period you receive the matching return labels; we organise the collection. You pack the devices securely for transport and we take care of the rest.
