Apple introduced the 16-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 Pro chip in January 2023. It pairs the large 16.2-inch display with a chip that has enough headroom for software development, image editing and demanding office work. At get-IT-easy you can rent this device from one day. The M2 Pro chip
The M2 Pro has a 12-core CPU with 8 performance and 4 efficiency cores and a 19-core GPU. CPU, GPU and Neural Engine share one pool of unified memory with 200 GB/s bandwidth. Apple offers the chip with 16 or 32 GB; our rental device has 32 GB. Depending on the unit, the SSD holds up to 8 TB.
Typical uses for the M2 Pro model
- Software development: Xcode builds, Docker containers and several development environments at once
- Photo editing: RAW series in Lightroom or Capture One, retouching in Photoshop
- Office and project work: large Excel files, many browser tabs and video calls in parallel
- 4K video editing: the media engine accelerates H.264, HEVC and ProRes in hardware

16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display
The display has a resolution of 3456 x 2234 pixels. The mini-LED backlight delivers 500 nits for standard content, and for HDR content 1000 nits sustained and up to 1600 nits peak. ProMotion adjusts the refresh rate up to 120 Hz. Relevant for photographers: the display covers the P3 colour space.
Ports, battery and weight
The case has three Thunderbolt 4 ports (USB-C), an HDMI output, an SDXC card slot, MagSafe 3 for charging and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The M2 Pro drives up to two external monitors. According to Apple, the battery lasts up to 22 hours of movie playback and up to 15 hours of wireless web browsing. The device weighs 2.15 kg. A 1080p FaceTime HD camera is built in for video calls, and the backlit Magic Keyboard has Touch ID.

Both chips have 12 CPU cores. If you mainly write code, edit photos or work with office software, the M2 Pro is fully sufficient. For GPU-heavy work we recommend the MacBook Pro 16″ M2 Max.

How the rental works
Send us a rental request via the form and you will receive a quote with price and conditions by email. On request we set up the MacBook before shipping, for example with a user account, your development tools or preinstalled software. We ship by express in reusable boxes, so the device reaches you the next working day. At the end of the rental period we collect it at no extra cost.
